After returning to the U.S.\, Drew continued his musical development by taking piano lessons\, writing songs and teaching himself how to play guitar.\nDrew believes in the purity of music. There is a palpable sadness to his voice that makes his songs impossible to shake\, and the music surges; hard-edged yet beautiful and melodic. He has released three albums: ‘Waiting’ in 2009\, ‘Please Excuse the Machine’ in 2011 and ‘Somewhere in Between’ in 2015. \nDrew’s voice is hypnotic in nature and pulls the listeners close in a unique way that allows the audience to feel what he feels. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, September 6th\, from 3-6PM for live music by Joe Bernui \nBio:\nJoe Bernui has been playing music professionally for decades. Starting in the early 80’s\, he was lead guitar player in a Washington\, DC area band “Ignition\,” also contributing solid vocal harmonies and an occasional lead vocal.\nDuring the 1990’s Joe’s next band “Shirkaday” found themselves in need of a lead singer. Having no luck finding a suitable vocalist through auditions\, Joe became that band’s lead singer in addition to playing guitar.\nAs the “Acoustic Rock” genre became popular in the mid-late 90’s\, Joe began doing solo shows\, finding it to be much more lucrative\, while still playing with a number of bands in Northern Virginia.\nFor the last 15+ years\, Joe has been doing mostly solo/acoustic shows. Now living in Sarasota\, FL\, he has been working steadily at Tiki Bars\, Restaurants\, Country Clubs and private parties\, occasionally as part of a duo.\nJoe’s long-time bandmate and songwriting partner\, Brian Curtiss will be joining him for this show at Flying Ace!

His classical training continued all the way through college where he studied music and criminal justice at the University of Georgia. During that time\, Neil also played in several bands before finishing school and moving to the Washington\, DC area. For the past 10 years\, Neil has performed at several venues in the DMV area and is a regular player at Bobby McKey’s dueling piano bar in National Harbor\, Maryland.
